Most of our structures are manufactured from bent laminated wood.

We chose this raw material for a reason. It has all the advantages of solid wood, and at the same time is devoid of its many disadvantages. What’s more, as the name already indicates, it is characterized by great flexibility, so we can implement your and your children’s ideas without too many problems. Just take a look at our range of wooden playgrounds – a lighthouse, ship, locomotive or castle are just some of the forms available.

Glulam production

To begin with, the thin planks, or laths, are subjected to mechanical chamber drying. This makes the whole process fast and efficient, unlike solid wood, which has to dry naturally for up to a whole year. The moisture level of the lamellas drops to about 8-12%. This makes the wood exhibit greater load resistance and rot resistance.

After excess moisture is drained away, the lamellas are planed on all four sides and stripped of any imperfections, including knots, the presence of which can cause rapid cracking and warping. Pest infested fragments are also removed. The wood prepared in this way is sorted into grades and layer by layer joined together using an adhesive resistant to the influence of adverse weather conditions. The finished product is thoroughly pressed, for strong fixation.

Summary

Laminated wood is lightweight and strong at the same time. That’s why, among other things, its installation is basically trouble-free. Thanks to special processing, it doesn’t deform so quickly, which is of great importance in heavily used playgrounds. The ease of processing and flexibility allows the creation of very different shapes and forms, which for the youngest means no boredom! The material is stable, showing greater resistance to moisture, wind or strong sunlight, nevertheless impregnation in any case is mandatory. Interestingly, such wood may not be very susceptible to fire, if the milling of the edges and sanding of the wood was done precisely.
