Polypropylene is a thermoplastic plastic that contains no harmful substances and is safe for health. It is one of the most widely used plastics in the world in many industries. Polypropylene is used in the automotive industry, packaging, medical equipment, toys or furniture, among others. Polypropylene ropes are very popularly used in various water sports, sailing, mountain climbing and, of course, in the construction of small architecture.
Advantages of polypropylene ropes
These ropes are lightweight, yet very strong. They show high resistance to moisture, which is of great importance in outdoor applications, such as rope playgrounds. Heavy rain or snowfall does not adversely affect the ropes, as they do not soak up water, shrink, rot or disintegrate under its influence. In addition, polypropylene ropes are not susceptible to abrasion, stretching and UV rays, so they do not fade, maintaining an aesthetic appearance for a long time. Due to their high melting point (170 degrees C), ropes are also not harmed by prolonged exposure to strong sunlight. Sulfurous frosts are also not a problem – during the winter the ropes do not stiffen, so they do not lose their flexibility.
A big plus for the youngest will be the fact that polypropylene ropes are pleasant to the touch and rarely cause abrasions to the hands due to their smooth surface. Polypropylene dyes very well, so the ropes come in many interesting colors, which adds variety to any landscaping construction. It is worth mentioning that these ropes do not electrify, as they are not susceptible to static electricity.
The sum of the above advantages means that ropes made of polypropylene can be used long and intensively. There is a large selection of colors, strands and diameters available on the market, which are responsible for specific strength. As a result, selecting the right rope for a specific application is not a problem at all.
